The Finest Dining at Sea continues to shine on board Oceania Cruises’ Riviera and Marina. Born through a partnership with one of the most recognized voices in the wine world, La Reserve by Wine Spectator is changing the way guests experience luxury dining onboard. Join us as we look at the 3 tantalizing dining experiences awaiting you at La Reserve.

The Odyssey

This is straightforward dining with Curated wine selections. The menu is anything but basic. Guests pick their dishes from the menu with preselected wine pairings. Our favorite dishes include:

Bay Scallop Teriyaki Seared on Riverstone paired with Pommery Brut Rose Champagne from Reims France.

Maine Lobster Cassolette with Terragon and Sea Urchin Bisque paired with Mer Soleil Chardonnay from California.

The artistry is not only in the preparation of these fantastic menu items, the authentic experience is how the subtle notes of the wine set off the flavors of each dish’s ingredients. The thoughtful pairings enhance the experience of each guest as the flavor profiles of a dish can completely change based on the wine pairing.

La Cuisine Bourgeoise

Oceania’s 7-course dinner celebrates the rituals of the table. Each course is hand-selected by Master Chef and Executive Culinary Director and then eloquently paired with a curated list of wine.

La Cuisine Bourgeoise refers to a style of french cooking that originated in the 19th Century in Lyon, France. The dishes are characterized by comfort foods prepared from simple, fresh, ingredients. These dishes are meant to be shared. Chef Pepin explains that this was the style of his mother’s cooking in a letter included on the menu and that it is his honor to share his childhood favorites with new friends. These items include

Filet de Boeuf Roti Richoulieu -Braised beef tenderloin with stuffed mushrooms, tomatoes, braised lettuce, chateau potatoes, and Madeira sauce. Paired with Chateaux Lynch-Moussas Seme Cru Pauillac, of Bourdeaux, France.

Filet de Sole Brillat-Savarin- Dover Sole with Crustacean Mousse, and black truffles paired with Louis Latour Morey- St. Denis Pinot Noir, Cotes Nuits, Burgandy, France.

The Dom Perignon Experience

Champagne is beloved for its light, fun, celebratory nature. The Dom Perignon Experience is alive with the same spirit of jubilation. Developed in partnership with Moet Chandon, this exquisite 6-course meal comes masterfully paired with unique vintages of Dom Perignon. With courses like Brittany Blue Lobster in Curry Broth and Sashimi Sliced Wagyu Beef, The Dom Perignon Experience is La Reserve’s Magnum Opus

La Reserve is more than these three meals. Guests can also enjoy Wine Seminars and wine pairing classes. It is important to note that seating is limited and La Reserve is only available on the Marina and Riviera so make sure to plan accordingly.

Do not underestimate the value of the assistance of a well-seasoned travel advisor. Like a sommelier would pair a wine with a dish, Luxury Cruise Connections experienced agents are masters at matching guests with the itineraries and experiences that best suit your tastes.
