A Travel Advisor’s SeaDream Yacht Club Review 

I recently had the pleasure of sailing aboard SeaDream Yacht Club, and it was an unforgettable experience. This intimate luxury cruise line offers personalized service, delicious cuisine, and unique experiences I am happy to share with you on this SeaDream Yacht Club review.

There is something about traveling in smaller ships that simply strikes a nerve for some of us cruisers. Having sailed on dozens of cruises, including some of the most luxurious cruise lines out there, I can say that smaller ships truly can make you feel like you are on your private chartered vacation with a close group of friends and attentive staff to cater to all your wishes. 

SeaDream Yacht Club Review: The Ship

The SeaDream Yacht Club features two elegant yachts, SeaDream I and SeaDream II. I had the pleasure of traveling in SeaDream I, however, I am certain its twin ship is just as comfortable and intimate. 

Accommodating a maximum of 112 guests ensures the most personalized of experiences, amazing service, and no waiting in lines. The ship’s design is modern and stylish, with comfortable staterooms and beautiful ocean views. 

The Service

The crew aboard SeaDream Yacht Club is exceptional. They are attentive, friendly, and always willing to go the extra mile to ensure your comfort and satisfaction. From the moment you step onboard, you will feel like royalty being welcomed by the captain with cocktails and hors d’oeuvres. 

Not only that but out of all the cruises I have been to, I am pretty sure SeaDream’s chef has been my favorite. He was always available to take care of us for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, going personally out of his way to cater to my tastes and dietary restrictions – This is what luxury is all about!

Trust me, I have nothing but great things to say about everyone who took care of us onboard, from the bartender Nick to our cabin stewardess, Adam, our main waiter, and of course, the onboard concierge who took care of every request we had. 

Each day, we and the rest of the guests received personalized gifts: From face masks with the SeaDream logo, to personalized water bottles, and very nice pens in a case… We would have gotten a set of pajamas even, if they had made it to the ship on time! Overall, this is to say that SeaDream Yacht Club does take good care of its guests. 

The Cuisine

The culinary experience aboard SeaDream Yacht Club is truly unforgettable. The chefs are talented and passionate about creating delicious and innovative dishes. Enjoy gourmet meals made with the freshest ingredients, expertly paired with fine wines. Whether you have dietary restrictions or specific preferences, the kitchen staff will happily accommodate your requests.

Onboard, you can find two dining areas, all open seating. Beverages, food, and gratuities are all included in your fee, and you can choose between the main dining room on deck 2, and a beautiful open-air dining area in the top deck, open for breakfast and lunches with an outdoor buffet. 

I have to include in this SeaDream Yacht Club review that they have a fantastic crispy bacon, also, the chef took every special request I had. You can even get room service at no charge, with a nice array of fruits to be ordered. Each day, locally inspired meals were served along the regular menu, for me the filet mignon with tomato and cheese was amazing!

The Experiences

One thing I cannot look over in this SeaDream Yacht Club review is the unique opportunity to sleep under the stars. So far, I have seen no other cruise line offering this, and I must recommend it entirely. 

You spend a night on their comfortable Balinese Dream Beds, as the ship sails in the wide open Sea, allowing you to connect with the tranquility around you. The night sky was spectacular, so me and my wife enjoyed a tremendously romantic, and unforgettable experience.

Apart from that, the itineraries offered by SeaDream Yacht Club are carefully curated to showcase the most beautiful destinations. From the Mediterranean to the Caribbean, you will have the chance to explore hidden coves, charming villages, and stunning landscapes.

Our itinerary departed from Malta, where we spent the night before the cruise at the only Virtuoso hotel in town, the fancy Inala Harbor House. Right by the sea in Valetta, with only 23 rooms, a beautiful inside pool, and spa, and breakfast included on the top floor – highly recommended!

After embarking in Valetta, the SeaDream Yacht took us to Gozo, a beautiful island in the Malta archipelago, to then go on towards Italy, my wife’s and I favorite country. The two major ports visited were Amalfi and Capri. In Capri, we were taken on a boat tour of the Blue Grotto caves, an amazing experience in a spectacular setting. The boat only fits around 6 to 7 people, and you can actually jump off and swim in these beautiful, clean waters.

A highlight for everyone onboard was reaching the island of Ponza. The largest of the Pontine Islands, we got to experience summer the Italian way here, as most cruise ships cannot make it to its port because of their large size – fortunately, that was not a problem for the SeaDream Yacht. 

Turns out, Mussolini was held in prison on this island briefly, and legend has it that because Ponza is so remote, when he arrived many locals had never heard of him or World War II, even!

Our cruise ended in Rome, where we spent a night in another Virtuoso Hotel, the Anantara Palazzo Naiadi Hotel, just a 20-minute walk away from the Colosseum.

I absolutely loved the feeling of sailing on my own yacht with a small group of friends. There are never any lines, and the service is simply impeccable.
