Lake Eerie
On the shores of Lake Eerie is Cleveland. One of America’s great industrial cities and vital ports on the Great Lakes. Modern Cleveland is not just the ghost of LeBron James and Drew Carry reruns. The City lies on the doorsteps of 51 square miles of greenspace in Cuyahoga Valley National Park. These wetlands, forests, and canals provide guests with miles of hiking trails, panoramic vistas, and views of another beautiful waterfall, Brandywine Falls.
Lake Huron
A stop in the historic logging town of Alpena, Michigan, the lower peninsula’s 2nd largest city allows guests to visit the Alpena Light. A massive red steel lighthouse on the Northend of the Alpena Harbor. This and the 2nd architectural gem in Alpina, the Art Deco Courthouse, make excellent photo opportunities.
Lake Huron also houses the picturesque city of Thunder Bay. One of the most naturally beautiful locations you can choose to visit. Wander the waterfront for views across the Bay of the Sleeping Giant and take photos of the natural granite formation for which it is named.
Mackinac Island lies at the mouth of the waterway between Lake Huron and Lake Michigan. This picturesque town is home to well-preserved Victorian architecture. Visitors are transported to simpler times as they ride horse-drawn carriages through streets with no cars.
Lake Michigan
Traverse City is another excellent opportunity for hiking and exploration. The clear waters and dunes provide guests with an excellent time outdoors. Nearby Sleeping Bear Dunes and Pyramid Point make great excursions for active travelers.
