Hosted in front of Schönbrunn Palace, Vienna’s largest Easter Market features live music, giant Easter eggs, various treats to taste, and the charm of traditional ornaments. However, this is not the only one, as each Easter market around the city comes with its own selection of stands, live traditional music, and local specialties, like mulled wine, strudels, and of course, lavishly decorated Easter eggs.

Conducted throughout their 20 years of existence by names such as Placido Domingo, Gustavo Dudamel, and Valery Gergiev, the Summer Night Concert is one of Vienna’s most spectacular summer nights, held by the Vienna Philharmonic in the gardens of the Schönbrunn Palace.

European Heritage Day (September 24th, 2023)

Held one Sunday a year all over major European cities, thousands of monuments and sites usually closed to the general public open their doors in celebration.

Each year, a variety of select locations all across Vienna, such as the National Library and Jewish Museum open their door to all audiences, providing also the unique chance to see areas usually kept away from visitors. Coronation Festivities (Annually by the end of July)

The past comes alive on the last few days of July, as the Bratislava Castle hosts a 200-member coronation procession, where historical fencing, dance, and theatre groups set the mood for the parade ending in the Main Square.  

Having been the coronation city of Hungarian kings and queens, the ceremony is accompanied by a period fair, providing audiences with a taste of how these actual events used to take place hundreds of years ago.
