Viking announced that it had taken possession of the Viking Neptune, the latest ship the company will add to its growing ocean fleet. The exchange took place at the Fincantieri Shipyard in Ancona, Italy. The physical design of the ship stays true to Viking’s policy of uniformity throughout its ships, but Neptune is packing something special. It will be the first cruise ship to be equipped with a small hydrogen fuel system.
Viking Neptune will kick off its inaugural season in the Mediterranean prior to commencing the 128-day 2022’2023 Viking World Cruise from Ft. Lauderdale to London. Including river and expedition ships, this is the fifteenth new Viking ship added this year. This latest milestone makes the company’s 25th Anniversary Celebration that much sweeter.
Viking Neptune will be the same size and layout as her sister ships. She will be 47,800 tons, house 930 guests, feature a mix of 465 suites and staterooms, and they will all have private balconies. Viking brings back its popular dining outlets and Scandanavian interior design
