Silversea completes Naming Ceremony for Silver Endeavour in Antarctica

Silver Endeavour

The Silver Endeavour has officially received its name. Silversea Cruises hosted the ship’s traditional ceremonial naming on an Antarctic Voyage on November 19th, 2022. The celebration marks an exciting milestone for the brand, as the addition of the former Crystal Expedition Ship has brought Silversea’s Luxury Expedition hardware to the forefront of the market.

Honoring maritime tradition, a blessing ceremony was held in Puerto Williams, at the Sub-Antarctic Center in Puerto Williams, on November 15th, 2022. In attendance were local dignitaries from the Chilean Government. Royal Caribbean CEO Jason Liberty attended digitally, and Felicity Aston was introduced as the ship’s godmother.

On November 19th, polar explorer, climate scientist, and now godmother of Silver Endeavour smashed a ceremonial ice-sculpted Magnum Champagne bottle on the ship’s hull, marking the first-ever naming ceremony in the Lemaire Channel. Silver Endeavour is the latest of three such naming ceremonies for new Silversea ships.
